I am enjoying working with a new shape: Menhir, named because it reminds me of the stones that Obelix carries around in the Asterix books, which helped me learn to read French!
Here are the first two menhirs, which develop different themes that I have been exploring in my past work: weaving patterns and trompe l’oeil.
I had such fun showing my Geometric Collection at the Best of British exhibition in Shanghai at the end of October. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends and find out more about the Chinese market.
I made the decision to leave the remains of the collection in Shanghai, to take advantage of the various opportunities that were on offer. I’m looking forward to future developments!
Thank you so much to Media-10 for arranging the show, to Cristina Liu from Rennie for making the plinths and to the wonderful Sophia Ni who worked tirelessly as my translator.
It goes almost without saying that Marcus Cole and Issy Ogden’s designs for the plinths were a total success and that without Jamie Cole’s enthusiasm and persuasion, I would not have been there – or had such a successful time.
Thank you all.
This is my latest pot – warm out of the kiln and ready to take to Shanghai where I have been given the opportunity to show my pots at the Best of British exhibition. Such fun!
The show runs from 18 to 22 October 2018. If you are in Shanghai do come and visit me on Stand E6.
Here is a lovely video of some of the pots that were exhibited at the Herrick Gallery in February. Courtesy of Marcus Cole.
Here is a preview of the works that my sister Sophie Arup and I exhibited at the Sisters.2 show at the Herrick Gallery, curated by Marcus Cole and Issy Ogden
Wow! It was rammed!
Great fun though – many thanks to everyone who came along.
Especial thanks to Marcus Cole and Issy Ogden for curating the show – it was amazing!
There is a nice mention of my work in the Bevere Gallery’s blog.
The gallery is currently showing a number of my pots until the end of September. I’m honoured to be part of their 10 year celebrations!

This is the moment to thank the wonderful people at Halo Lighting who provided Sophie and me with the lights for our exhibition. Such nice people and so helpful! It was a pleasure to work with them.
