INTERVIEW WITH CAROLINE COLE ON AGNES’S SELECT

Following the Best of British show in Shanghai, I spent an enjoyable hour chatting to Agnes about good and bad design, the power of brands and, of course, ceramics.  The result is an article on her blog site Agnes’ Select – if you read Chinese, do take a look.

ARTICLE ABOUT CAROLINE COLE CERAMICS IN CHINA’S REAL ESTATE FRONTIERS

I am both delighted and amazed to have a double page spread of my pots in the Jan/Feb edition of China’s Real Estate Frontier Magazine (Volume 031).

Many thanks to June for selecting my work and to the magazine for publishing.

CAROLINE COLE CERAMICS FEATURED ON THE HURUN REPORT PLATFORM

Many thanks to Summer and her team for the piece about me and my pots on the Hurun Report platform. Lots of videos for English speakers, Chinese words for Chinese speakers and images for everyone!

BRINGING POTS TO CHINA

I had such fun showing my Geometric Collection at the Best of British exhibition in Shanghai at the end of October.  It was a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends and find out more about the Chinese market.

I made the decision to leave the remains of the collection in Shanghai, to take advantage of the various opportunities that were on offer.  I’m looking forward to future developments!

Thank you so much to Media-10 for arranging the show, to Cristina Liu from Rennie for making the plinths and to the wonderful Sophia Ni who worked tirelessly as my translator.

It goes almost without saying that Marcus Cole and Issy Ogden’s designs for the plinths were a total success and that without Jamie Cole’s enthusiasm and persuasion, I would not have been there – or had such a successful time.

Thank you all.

Best of British – Shanghai

This is my latest pot – warm out of the kiln and ready to take to Shanghai where I have been given the opportunity to show my pots at the Best of British exhibition.  Such fun!

The show runs from 18 to 22 October 2018.  If you are in Shanghai do come and visit me on Stand E6.

A new commissioned vase

It’s not often that a client takes you to their home, points to a place on their sideboard and says “Make me something to go here.”

This is especially welcome, when ‘here’ is in a beautiful room, surrounded by understated but incredibly elegant abstract paintings, lit from both sides with generous windows looking out onto fabulous, mature gardens.

A wonderful challenge.

This slipcase vase, part glazed and part exposed underglaze, is my response.

Special edition of Vogue Living in German Vogue

What to say?  Privileged, delighted, lucky?  Whatever the appropriate word is, I’m amazed to have one of my pots featured in the Modern Art section of Vogue Living,  in German Vogue June 2018.

Thank you Katharina Hesedenz for selecting Flat Oval Vase: Arrow Heads (i) and to Vanessa Daly for photographing it so beautifully.

Commissioned piece….

I’m delighted with this commissioned piece which pares back the Arrow Head pattern to a monochrome design, really emphasising the twisted shape of this vase.

Thank you Jonny and Wei!

Pot video 5

The fifth video that Arnaud made is of one of the vases in my Tall Oval Vases collection.  The woven pattern is generated by straight lines running from one side of the small oval at the base to the other side of the larger oval at the lip.
